Office design has come a long way since the likes of Google, Microsoft and other tech giants started investing in their offices to encourage wellbeing as well as good working practices. Our client wanted to create great work spaces and relaxed break out areas. The industrial style conversion of this former church is home to a Nottinghamshire based engineers, their bespoke technical steel installations are showcased throughout the building.

We have been working with some lovely clients who are about to embark on a full renovation and upgrade to their property in rural Nottinghamshire. The concept design has been submitted to planning for approval, we are excited to hear back and get started.
One year after architect Frank Lloyd Wright's building 'Falling Water' was added to the Unesco World Heritage List we have taken inspiration from the beauty of his materials and simplicity of the building form. Sadly we can't use his stunning site but we are excited to be designing this family home for our creative clients.
Over the course of the lock down there have been many things the team at JLK Architects have missed. We are serious about keeping each other safe, and realise the compromises everyone has made. When we can safely do so we are all looking forward to a family meal away from home and drinks with our friends. With food on our minds designing a restaurant and bar this week has been a joy.
This beautiful rural property is undergoing a major remodel. The pebble-dash has been removed, a soldier course has been added to the head of the windows, corbelling has been added to the eaves and rise & fall guttering has been reinstated. The inside is also undergoing a transformation, we love the beautiful barn doors with black ironmongery.
We are very excited to have this new project now underway, transforming another beautiful building in Nottingham into luxury apartments.
There are some buildings that change the lives of the community they serve for the better. It is safe to say that the first Boots store in Nottingham was one of those buildings. The aim of the store was to make medicines available and affordable to all. This philosophy is still as relevant today as it was 137 years ago, when the shop first opened. We are delighted to be working on this historic building and hope it enjoys another 137 years serving the community.
When a client asks for a dramatic modern extension to a cottage in a conservation area we like to take on the challenge. This beautiful cottage had lots of charm but lacked the space for the clients extending family. We designed a contemporary two storey rear extension to provide the much needed master bedroom suite and family living space.
